Texas border marker - Hwy 287 at the New Mexico/Texas Border

As recent transplants to the great state of Texas we have quickly learned about the pride that Texans have in their state.  We have enjoyed the many opportunities that Texas provides to explore and make new discoveries.  There are so many unique sites, activities and opportunities to try new things located right here in Texas.

Based out of the Fort Worth area we plan on Discovering more of this great state and look forward to sharing with you all the exciting places we find.  We will explore many new restaurants including many that have been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and other Food Network and Travel Channel shows.  We will share some Texas state history with you as we learn it.  You will find great outdoor activities and activities to do with your kids. We are going to try and leave no county unexplored while we live here in Texas.  We will spread out across the state looking for those things that make the state unique.

Our family moved to Texas from Spokane, Washington in October 2010.  We had never lived south of Colorado and were really stepping into unfamiliar territory.  Our route on the move brought us into Texas on Highway 287 from New Mexico into the northern most portions of the Texas panhandle.  Our journey started at this monument and our first year has been great.

So, let’s go and explore Texas!
